Castellanos et al v LexisNexis Risk Solutions

In August 2022, Just Futures Law filed a lawsuit against LexisNexis Risk Solutions on behalf of three Cook County residents and two organizations. Our lawsuit alleged that the company’s technology violated state privacy and consumer protection rights and facilitated government surveillance of protestors, immigrants, and other communities of color through the mass collection and sale of using information that generally could not be obtained without a warrant, subpoena, or court order. In April 2024, the Cook County Circuit Court dismissed our lawsuit, but it remains critical to continue this fight in courts and beyond.
